Cleaning Hazet Tools

Here a  step-by-step description on how to clean your old Hazet tools:

1. Bought a pre-1965 Hazet adjustable pliers, 760. It arrived like this:

2. First step is to give it a quick wipe with a baby-wipe followed by a soak in hot soapy water:

3.  Using an old toothbrush for cleaning. Afterwards drying it:
4. There is still some paint on it so using Nitromors paintstripper next:

5. Time for another soak in hot soapy water. After drying:
6. Looking good but not shiny enough. Using metal polish (Autosol) and some fine steel wool


7. Remove excess polish and any other dirt using panel wipe (slow degreaser)
8. Finish it off by applying a Hazet water decal as per the original location
